Feisty little hottie
Tila Tequila's has led a roller coaster life of longing, lusting and
laughing. Her Vietnamese family gave birth to her in Singapore and
emigrated to the US when she was about 2 years old. "So naturally
I was raised as a little American Hellcat in the suburbs of Houston,"
she jokes. In middle school, after fighting a bully and taking out
a few teachers in the process, she was sent off to the "school for
bad kids" for six months. "I was a pretty wild child after all and
would probably punch your lights out if you pissed me off!"
She eventually dropped out of school, took off for NYC with $300,
and started taking ecstasy regularly while clubbing and partying.
"It gives me the chills just thinking about it now because that's
just something I NEVER want to go back to." Tila eventually went back
to Houston and looked for work. "It was a perfect time to find a job
for me because at 17 my record of going to jail twice had been permanently
erased from my files."
And work she found! The self-proclaimed hellcat was discovered at
the mall in Houston, Texas when she was 18 by a Playboy scout. She
turned her blazing attitude and southern charm into a new smart and
sultry persona. Tila's site has hundreds of smoky, glamorous photos,
but there are also many images of her laughing, joking, playing and
making fun of the moment. What comes across from this little lady
is not just her enormous sex appeal, but also the reality of her being
and a sense of her humor. It's refreshing to see photos like this
included in her session shots, instead of reduced to candids.
She graciously joked and spoke with us about her life of music, modeling
and mayhem.
Eros Zine: You recently performed and Asianmodelpalooza
as both a model and a member of your band. What kind of music do you
play, and are you a sexy hardcore rocker chick?
Tila Tequila: It's rock n roll...and a little bit of punk. I
sing. I can play guitar and keyboards as well as bass; however I don't
usually play while performing in my band because I love to move around
and dance.
Eros Zine: You also publish your lyrics and poetry on your site. What
inspires you? Is it possible that this pretty little foul-mouth lady
has a soft and tender heart?!?
Tila Tequila: Ha ha! Underneath all this hardness there is definitely
a soft spot that only the special ones get to see....but I must warn
you, once you see it, you'll never want another!
Eros Zine: You've been in Playboy half a dozen times. What's
the experience of doing a shoot with them like for you?
Tila Tequila: It's great to be able to say that I've been in Playboy
but that was a thing of the past. I will always be grateful that I
did it, but now I have to reach for other goals in life, ya know?
Eros Zine: You said once that you were practicing abstinence for a
while because you felt sex should be more meaningful. How long did
that last, and did it work?
Tila Tequila: Hahaha! Umm...I think it lasted about a month and after
that I went crazy and had some wild sex! I couldn't take it anymore!
My lifestyle is so stressful right now that sex is not a luxury I
can afford to give up.
Eros Zine: Your lifestyle seems stressful! I hear you've got
a mad sleep schedule. How do you sleep all day and party all night
when you are modeling, playing in a band, promoting and more? It sounds
exhausting!
Tila Tequila: Oh it is definitely exhausting. I honestly don't know how
I do it either. I guess sometimes when you're just crazy, time doesn't
matter...
Eros Zine: Are you still single and loving it? Do you still have a
weakness for bad boys and Chucks [sneakers]?
Tila Tequila: I will always have a thing for bad boys and their Chucks!
And umm....I can't really answer the question on whether or not I
have a boyfriend because by the time you read this I will probably
have been single and on with another guy by then...haha! So who will
be the one to tame me is the right question.
Eros Zine: Are there really video game characters modeled after you?
Which games and do you play them?
Tila Tequila: Yeah I was supposed to be in 2 video games for PS2 but
something happened with the company behind the games and they never
released it. However you can still find me on covers for Gameboy Advances.
There's some for sale at my online store....get yourself one! Hehe.
Eros Zine: You come across as both a very playful and very strong
woman. You've mentioned that you grew up in a tough neighborhood.
Where are you from and how'd you come to leave?
Tila Tequila: I was pretty much a rugrat growing up and I am very street
smart. I grew up in an environment with a lot of drugs and shootings
going on...lots of friends dying and sad stuff such as that. You wouldn't
think so just by looking at me, but yes, I know how hard life can
be and I know how it feels to feel trapped like there is no escape
with your life. I found out the hard way that there is!
To make a long story short....you CAN escape poverty, violence, drugs,
blah, blah, blah if you truly wanted to. There is always a way out.
Nobody said it would be easy, but there is a way out. I mean, no matter
where you go, there will always be corruption in this world, but hey,
we can't really stop that. But you can start a new life for yourself...like
me! And look at me now boys and girls...just fine and dandy! Haha!
